I got back last night from our Rotary welcome weekend in Salvador! It was really amazing. We went to lots of museums and historical sights in town and Praia do Forte. My favourite museum was definitely the indigenous museum we went to. Everyone who worked there was really passionate about what they did and lots of the actual artists who had worked on the interactive art were there! It was very cool to learn about. We went to the most beautiful church I've ever seen and had some awesome food for lunch at a buffet with a ton of traditional Bahian foods. We watched the sunset behind the Museu Nautico da Bahia in Barra and it was beautiful. After, we had a birthday party for Phillip at Diana, Lara, Maria Fernanda and my host house which was nice getting to know everyone more. Saturday, we had orientation meetings which were alright. They gave us information about the trips which is great except for the prices! So expensive but luckily, I have money saved up. I'm just hoping it'll be enough. After the meetings, we had a big party with all the Rotex and it was really fun! We did karaoke and ate crepes which are surprisingly different than in Canada. My squad had way too much fun laughing and teaching each other different languages back at our host house and on Sunday, we went to Praia do Forte. What a beautiful town! The beach was incredible and a lot of fun. Monday, Diana and I went with Jorge to the Policia Federal to get our identification cards and then he took us to the bus station and we rode back to Cruz Das Almas! I also spent a day in Cachoeira which is a cute little town the reminded me a lot of Laguna Beach in California. I really miss all the new friends I made but I might get to see some people this weekend because Diana and I are going to her host family's beach house in Ilheus.
